MycoGourds with Elder Joe Candia
The size of the group is limited to 25-30 gourd-holders and a facilitator.  *Limited Capacity, signup required. Email Art Goodtimes Shroompa@gmail.com for participation

Modeled after the peer-to-peer sharing of graduate seminars, the MycoGourds concept was inspired by the work of Colorado deep ecologist Dolores LaChapelle and Brazilian socialist educator Paulo Freire. Dolores was a strong advocate of sharing circles for group decision-making and information-sharing -- as used in many traditions, both ancient and new (such as the Rainbow Family Gathering’s talking stick circles).

This sharing circle will be led by veteran facilitator of Indigenous ancestry Joseph Candia who specializes in contemplative dialogue. The theme for this peer-to-peer discussion will be evolving consciousness using mushrooms.

The Magic of Mushroom Essences (Limited Capacity)
All presentation in Transformation Studio are first come first serve. A line will be formed outside of Ah Haa for this presentation. There will be limited seats so please plan for a different event if this is full.

Robert Rogers, Ken Mycelium and Roger Holden will share their journey into this fascinating field and our collaboration with Robert on harnessing the healing properties of these essences. Robert will delve into his exploration of using mushroom essences for addressing complex conditions in his clinical herbal practice in Canada. He will explain the science behind mushroom essences and vibrational medicine, providing a brief history of the subject.

With over 20 years of clinical experience, Robert will present case studies demonstrating how Mushroom Essences have effectively treated conditions such as depression, anxiety, phobias, ADHD, OCD, trauma, insomnia, eating disorders, insecurities, anger, and relationship issues. He will highlight the profound results and success stories from his practice.

Robert will also clarify the differences between Flower and Mushroom Essences and their unique ability to address the subconscious and unconscious aspects of our psyche. He will discuss how these essences facilitate healing by bringing repressed parts of ourselves to consciousness in a safe manner, altering our energy and frequencies, and relieving long-held traumas.

Additionally, he will share how Mushroom Essences can heal physical ailments by addressing the mind-body connection, freeing patients from psychological struggles, and thus alleviating physical symptoms. Mushroom Essences offer a safe alternative to psychedelics, bringing issues to awareness without the associated risks. Therapists, coaches, and medical professionals are increasingly interested in integrating these essences into their practices due to their compatibility with other treatments. This session marks the exciting introduction of Mushroom Essences to the United States, showcasing their powerful healing benefits across physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual domains. Robert Rogers, the foremost authority on Mushroom Essences and author of the only book on the subject, will share his unparalleled knowledge and experience.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to learn from Robert Rogers at the Telluride Mushroom Festival. This talk is essential for anyone in the mushroom and healing community. It is an incredible honor for us to introduce Robert and his groundbreaking work on Mushroom Essences.

During this circle we spend time with the wildness of the soul-based teachings that arise from fungi. What does it mean to digest, sporulate, germinate, decompose, myceliate, and translocate nutrients? Fungi invite us to question the quality of our embodiment – the quality of our “fruiting body-ness”. Fungi resonate deep in our psyches as archetypal inhabitants of dual worlds: realms above and below; seen and unseen; death and rebirth. In this circle we take reverence in what we’ve seen externally and what we’ve felt internally. During this deep imagination communion with fungi we connect with the potency of our soul. We dialogue with fungi as guides who are profoundly alive. This circle will begin with a mycelial meditation and then you’ll get a chance to share (and witness) what the fungi are telling our hearts and spirits.

Movie Showing + Discussion
Big trees are among the largest organisms that have ever existed on our planet. And the big trees on North America's west coast are some of the largest. The short (19-minutes) film "Giant Tree Hunters" is about British Columbia's big trees, and the people who hunt for them. This film will be followed by a presentation about the ecological, cultural and social importance of British Columbia's big trees and old-growth forests, and about threats to these forests and trees. One of the values associated with these forests is that they provide habitat for a variety of organisms, known and unknown, including some fungal species that we know only from old-growth forests.

Rocky Mountain Community Mycology: Mapping Fungi with DNA Together
Rapid advances in technology have made large-scale DNA sequencing possible for the first time ever in history. Community mycologists gathering in home laboratories are managing to sequence thousands of fungi in a single weekend. In 2023 alone, because of the diligence of collectors alongside the affordability and relative ease of sequencing, iNaturalist observations with ITS sequence data jumped 100-fold. In this talk, Mandie Quark will tour the audience through the community science labs, collaborations and workflows that are allowing this data to be produced at record speed, all free of charge to Colorado mushroom collectors. Cutting-edge methods, multidisciplinary research, and interesting species in the region will be highlighted. Big Botanical Beings - Long Format
Tuesday June 10, 2025 4:00pm - 5:45pm MDT
Ways of Seeing the Long History of Psychedelic Plants and Mushrooms: Emerging from their roots in indigenous folk practice, we follow the path of several significant psychedelic species through more than a century of cross-cultural introduction. After grounding the topic in evolutionary history, then the known indigenous traditions, we move into the 20th century. These plants, fungi and substances have wended their way across boundaries, seeding cultural transformation in the West, changing their traditional knowledge-holding cultures, and generating more questions than answers. We will regard this complex landscape of change-agents, including the creative burst that we now call the Psychedelic Revolution of the 1960s-70s.  Via storytelling, we personify these particularly potent species – Peyote, Psilocybe mushrooms, and Ayahuasca. We ask, what if each of them had a conscious role in these waves of cultural change? Who are they, and what is lost and gained by the carriers of these traditions?

Featured Presentation : Hey Mushroom, Where is your ID?!
Tuesday June 10, 2025 7:30pm - 8:30pm MDT
HEY MUSHROOM, WHERE'S YOUR ID? In keeping with the theme of this year’s festival—identity—what does it mean to give a mushroom a name? Recognising one mushroom as different from another, and naming it, imbues it with meaning. Being able to identify a fungus is essential if you’re planning on putting it in your mouth. Part of knowing is the act of naming. It’s the foundation of taxonomic mycology that helps us make sense of the hundreds of thousands of fungi out there. But does defining a mushroom only by its identity risk underestimating its interrelations and so much more? Has the zeal to name and categorise distracted us from understanding mycelial fungi as living systems? In a time of mass surveillance, perhaps some mushrooms are happy to remain unknown and anonymous. In this interactive and provocative talk, ecologist, photographer and author Alison Pouliot will explore different approaches to knowing fungi from her forest forays, interacting with mycologists and mycophiles around the world.

Life of a Mushroom gets up close and personal with both mushrooms and the passionate individuals connected to them, across the US and internationally. Explore some of the largest agaricus farms and the bustling industry surrounding them. Meet foragers who make a living discovering Morels, Chanterelles, Maitake, and more in the wild. Join mushroom enthusiasts as they gather high in the hills to celebrate their shared passion. Discover specialty growers and purveyors of fungi known for their health benefits, such as Lion's Mane and Cordyceps. Travel with biologists deep into the rainforest in search of new or rarely documented species.

This documentary highlights the integral role of fungi in our ecosystems, the historical and contemporary importance of mushroom cultivation, and the remarkable health benefits of various mushroom species. It also examines the impact of both small and large-scale mushroom growers on the global food supply.

Life of a Mushroom: Picked, Prepped, & Eaten is a compelling journey that showcases the extraordinary world of fungi and the dedicated people who champion their cause. Don't miss this fascinating exploration of one of nature's most intriguing organisms.
