Take a dive into the world of medicinal mycology to gain essential knowledge about functional mushrooms, their health benefits, and their applications in modern wellness. The Earth is populated by millions of unique fungal species and science has barely begun to scratch the surface of the fungal ‘Kindom’. Based on published research, the goal of this class is to open the door to currently known functional mushrooms, the science behind the health effects, their potential applications, and ultimately to recognize and understand the language used around functional mushroom supplements and extractions. Follow along as we explore the interactions between human and fungal biology to gain a better understanding of extractions and other consumer products, and more accurately assess the trends and future prospects in the functional mushroom industry.
