Dr. Joe Cohen received his Doctor of Osteopathy degree and subsequently completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology in affiliation with Yale University School of Medicine in1983. He founded The Women’s Center for Holistic Health and was Medical Director of Family Health Network in Stratford, Connecticut prior to relocating to Boulder Colorado in 1990. In addition to private practice, he served as department chairman in obstetric, gynecology and pediatrics as well as the Director for The Center for Integrative Therapies at Longmont United Hospital. He had the opportunity to work with Shoshoni and Arapaho women in Wyoming, as well as Maori women in New Zealand before retiring from a 30-year career as an obstetrician. Dr. Cohen had the honor of assisting nearly 10,000 women and families in birthing their children and had worked closely with midwives throughout his career. 15 years ago, he founded Holos Health in Boulder, Colorado specializing in both functional and cannabis medicine and has developed cannabinoid- based therapies to both prevent and treat chronic inflammation and chronic disease. Dr. Jeremy Widmann helped pique his interest in mycology including functional mushrooms as well as psychedelic therapy with psilocybin at Do Good Ranch. Dr. Cohen is dedicated to identifying and eliminating triggers of disease and helping the body to heal naturally.
