About me
Gabriela is the Director for Fungal Diversity Survey (FUNDIS), the only nonprofit focusing on North American fungal biodiversity and conservation. Originally from the Rocky Mountains, the Catskill Mountains are now home. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies with focus in Fungal Ecology and a minor in Philosophy. She created Northern Utah Funga project, is former vice president for Mushroom Society of Utah, and initiated the campaign to designate Porcini (Boletus edulis) as Utah’s state mushroom. She is inspired by the mysterious aliveness of fungi, their language, and what happens to our imaginations as we engage the fungal kindom.
