About me
I am a trained ecologist and anthropologist with a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, specializing in primatology and animal behavior. Over the past three years, I have served as an outdoor educator for students ranging from Kindergarten through High School. I have been honing my skills of learning from the wilds, program design, behavior management, and environmental education. My fascination with mycology began during a Biology 101 lecture in college. My best friend and I were captivated by the subject, and shortly after, she introduced me to Paul Stamets' TED Talk. This pivotal moment sparked a deep passion for mycology that has only grown over the years. I have been a long-time volunteer at the Telluride Mushroom Festival, where I have further immersed myself in the world of fungi and its ecological significance. Two winters ago I founded the Portland (PDX) Queer Mycology Club in Oregon. This is where I lead discussions and activities focused on the intersection of mycology and queer ecology. I am a lifelong student and passionate about healing, creating, and deepening community. I am so excited to discuss this incredible topic with the Telluride Mushroom Festival!
