About me
Nick Rajtar is a forest pathologist and a mycologist who received his PhD at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities under his advisor Dr. Robert Blanchette in 2024. Rajtar currently is a post-doctoral researcher at UMN where his work focuses on the biosurveillance of invasive forest pathogens. He has a keen interest in polypore fungi and enjoys sharing his passion for fungi with mushroom enthusiasts from all skill levels and backgrounds. Nick received The Gary Lincoff Graduate Scholarship to attend his first Telluride Mushroom Festival in 2021 and has returned each year to help lead forays, present and identify mushrooms at the festival.
