About me
Sam Andrasko specializes in mushroom cultivation. He discovered fungi through sheer boredom, traipsing through the woods in Northeast Oklahoma starting in 1996. Sam began collecting fungi and bringing them into cultivation, learning and creating different ways to manipulate them into fruiting utilizing books, online forums, research articles and connecting with other amateur Mycologists. As a precision machinist by trade Sam continued to grow fungi as a hobby and work eventually brought him Back to San Diego where he is originally from. There, Sam discovered "Mushroom Societies" and became president of the San Diego Mycological Society almost auto-magically providing educational opportunities to the public for the next 3 years. In 2020 Sam and his business partner Scott Brown started Creekside Mushroom Farms in Descanso, CA offering fresh certified organic mushrooms to the local market and classes to the community. Founders of M2Ingredients Sandra Carter and Steve Farrar eventually scouted Sam's talents where he currently supports M2's production team as Mycology Manager, conducting research and development projects in the laboratory with a focus on efficacious medicinal mushroom products.
